Spacious town house with an office, in a style that reconciles Art Deco with brick modernism, designed in 1935 by René Nuyens for Jan Pauwels. The flat-brick façade, two bays wide with two storeys under a tiled roof, relies on a strong play of volumes: the expressive red-brick ground floor, with a semicircular oriel flanking the recessed entrance under a wide basket-handle opening, contrasts with the set-back brown-brick upper floor. The garage inserted in 1961 and the plastic cladding of the balcony have weakened the design. It is recorded in the Flemish architectural heritage inventory.
