Art Deco town house, built in 1926 for Armand Janssens, chairman of the S.A. Comptoir Général du Bâtiment, the company that designed and built the neighbouring Conforta workers' estate, and chairman of Les Grands Hôtels Modernes Belges; the permit application contains no plan and the architect is not known. It forms a group with nos 174 to 182 and stands out in the row through its height and set-back volume. Of five storeys under a flat roof, the asymmetrical cornice façade is composed in steps, each storey with its own arrangement, with a white-stone facing. The strongly projecting ground floor carries a solid balustrade with stepped pilasters on corbels decorated with fruit, flowers and foliage, with copper bands bearing stylised flowers; the bel-étage has a wide window between fluted pilasters, and the top storeys have three window bays in stepped surrounds. The joinery has been entirely renewed and the ground floor converted into a shop in 1985. The house is recorded in the Flemish architectural heritage inventory.
