Maison d'angle 't Kroontje — Roulers

The brick corner house "'t Kroontje", dated 1920 by a façade stone and now painted white, was designed by René Doom and J. Vermeersch (Roeselare/Brussels) as a unified group with two gabled houses in Jan Mahieustraat. The corner block, which probably once housed a shop, has three storeys and a rounded corner containing the door; a decorative brick frieze runs beneath the cornice. Art Deco influence shows in the ornament of the tall corner bay, whose two dormers are separated by a small Doric column.
