The Church of the Sacred Heart (Heilig Hartkerk) in Roeselare was designed by Alfons Van Coillie of Roeselare. Work began in 1932 and the church was consecrated on 23 October 1933, for a parish created in 1930 in the south of the town. On a cruciform plan with a square west tower, the reinforced concrete structure is clad in yellow brick enlivened with white stone. The inventory describes it as a building with a touch of Art Deco mixed with stylised traditional elements.
