Maison Art déco, Stationsstraat 139 — Waregem

Art Deco house of 1932, built to designs by the Waregem architect Maurice Bovyn (1889-1958). Built of alternately lighter and darker orange brick, with bluestone for the plinth and the finishings, it has angular and stepped forms, a bow window and decorative brickwork. On the left, a shopfront incorporates the entrance door; the central window has leaded glass depicting a fountain. The joinery survives, including the sash windows of the upper floor. The house is recorded in the Flemish architectural heritage inventory.
