A large apartment building of Art Deco inspiration, designed in 1929-1930 by the architects Henri Jacobs father and son for the Foyer bruxellois, the only building completed out of a planned complex of four "moderately priced" blocks. The City of Brussels accepted its height, reduced to 23.5 metres, only on condition that it be intended for the middle classes. Its eight storeys, the top one an attic beneath a mansard roof, combine white imitation stone, white stone, washed terrazzo and red brick, with projecting piers and canted corners; in 1937 Henri Jacobs junior added modernist garages.
