Immeuble à appartements Art déco, avenue Franklin Roosevelt 108

An Art Deco apartment building designed in 1931 for the contractor Jules Van Oncem, recorded in the inventory. Its symmetrical elevation of five storeys and three bays pairs a blue-stone ground floor with upper floors mixing brick and rendered elements. Of crisp geometry, the façade uses multiple set-backs to establish its main lines. On the axis, the door with its massive rusticated surround gives rise to a slender giant pilaster separating the paired windows. Inside, the original Schlieren lift in an open shaft survives.
