A building of Art Deco inspiration dated 1925-1929, built to plans by the architects M. Polak and A. Hoch. It is the first of a series of hotels designed by the architects of the Résidence Palace along the axis between place De Brouckère and the Gare du Nord, such as the Hôtel Plaza. L-shaped in plan, it has nine levels including three set-back attic storeys; the main facade is clad in white stone, with a marble-clad ground floor pierced by round arches, giant-order pilasters and rich sculpted ornamentation (medallions on either side of the entrance, four full-length figures on the pilasters). The rear facade on rue Saint-Michel is plainer.
