Girls' school and convent designed in 1934 and 1935 by architect Frans Peeters for the Annonciade Sisters of Huldenberg, in a restrained modernist style with regionalist and Art Deco features. The convent on the street, of five bays and two storeys under a widely overhanging pitched roof, is built of brown brick in Norwegian bond with Dudok joints on a bluestone base; its round-arched door is set in a stepped brick surround, and its windows are framed with black glazed tiles. The two classroom wings on the inner courtyard were later raised and renovated under a permit granted in 2000; they now house the Johannesschool primary school. The complex is recorded in the Flemish architectural heritage inventory.
