Former personal house of the architect René Burgraeve, built in 1933 in the Art Deco style and signed on the plinth. The asymmetrical façade of orange brick with emphasised horizontal joints, set off by bluestone, combines a round-arched door in a stepped brick surround, a rendered trapezoidal oriel resulting from the alteration of the original brick bay of the same shape, and an entablature frieze of brick on end. The top storey, a mansard under a flat roof, was added in 1955 for the architect’s widow; the door retains an elegant wrought-iron grille.
