Two-family dwelling in the Art Deco style of 1932, known as the Verreet houses, designed by the architect Ern. Wauters, who signed it. Symmetrical, of four bays and three storeys under a flat roof, it has a cornice façade faced with yellow facing brick and bluestone, with variations in the brickwork, topped with decorative tiles; the upper bay windows and balconies run across both dwellings. The wooden casement windows carry a characteristic sawtooth motif on their jambs, and the original oak doors with textured glass, the grilles and the coloured leaded glass survive. No. 187 retains much of its interior, including the stair hall, living rooms panelled in walnut and rosewood, doors with coloured leaded glass and typical chimneypieces. The houses are recorded in the Flemish architectural heritage inventory.
