Two Art Deco-inspired corner houses face each other at the entrance to Rue Robert Thoreau; the architect Th. Louis Janss designed them in 1933 and 1934. They play on volumes with curved wall planes, two façades of unequal width being joined at the corner by a broad rounded wall, with flower boxes, oriels and bay windows. No. 190-192 Rue François Gay, three storeys under a flat roof, formerly housed a grocery on the ground floor; its original yellow brick and Tyrolean render are now covered by a cream limewash. Both houses are recorded in the statutory inventory.
