Two mirror-image Art Deco houses designed in 1933 for and by Werner Van Spranghe (inscription). The strict red-brick façade with cornice is enlivened by a bow window incorporating an underground garage and by a striking entrance reached by a long flight of steps, faced at no. 16 with red and yellow tiles; the steps of the two houses are separated by a row of U-shaped brick planters. A strongly projecting curved door canopy continues over the bow window; the geometric leaded glass of the door survives only at no. 18. The pair is recorded in the Flemish architectural heritage inventory.
