House designed in 1936 by the architect André Claessens for Pierre Velghe, a wholesaler of building materials who was also active in shipping; the permit, applied for on 1 May 1936, was granted on 18 May. Both exterior and interior refer to the streamline (paquebot) style, which the inventory regards as a late form of Art Deco, combined with modernist and traditionalist elements. The three-storey facade under a flat roof plays with rectangles and ovals: a base of black polished granite on a bluestone plinth, a facing of pink faience tiles, an oval window on the ground floor, a glazed oriel with rounded sides topped by a balcony with a tubular railing, and a metal double door matching the decorative screen above it. Later absorbed into the neighbouring ACLVB offices, the house has been listed as a monument since 10 May 2019.
