Maison Art déco, Hofstraat 78

Art Deco town house designed in 1930, according to the building permit, by the building technician (bouwkundige) Robert Collenaere for G. De Landtsheer; the inscription 'R. COLLENAERE BOUWKUNDIGE' runs along an artificial-stone band on the façade. Only the ground floor stands on the building line, the upper floors being set back. The two-bay façade, in brick on a bluestone plinth, has a wide round-arched window, a round-arched door with a wrought-iron grille, a wide central bay flanked by slanting planes and ending in a gable, a curved oriel on the first floor and a balcony with a tubular balustrade.
