Headquarters of the socialist daily Vooruit, founded in Ghent in 1884, designed in 1930 by the architect Fernand Brunfaut (1886-1972) for the society "Het Licht": a new printing works and offices fitted into an existing house. The facade is clad in red and black glazed tiles, with glass and ironwork; the inventory ties it to the Neue Sachlichkeit (New Objectivity) and to Art Deco. Inaugurated on 10 January 1931, the complex is a protected monument; the architect's son Maxime Brunfaut designed the director's desk and the vestibule floor.
