Immeuble de rapport Art déco, rue des Chartreux 19

Four-storey block of rental flats, with a mezzanine and a half-storey attic under a mansard roof, whose rendered Art Deco façade is dated 1924 (permit file of 1923); it is recorded in the inventory. Horizontal divisions are marked by the entablature of the commercial ground floor, the balconies and the crowning entablature, while giant pilasters, tripartite windows and trapezoidal projecting bays in the end bays give the vertical rhythm. The ground floor is clad in marble around the shop windows and the carriage entrance, whose fanlight has fine ironwork. A bas-relief fruit basket bearing the inscription “anno 1924” decorates the panel below the second-floor bays.
