Apartment building in the Art Deco style on the corner of Wijngaardstraat and Hoofdkerkstraat, built after a 1924 design by the architect Ferdinand Truyman for the bailiff Fr. De Laet; it comprised offices on the ground floor and three apartments above. It is one of the last works of Truyman, who was active as an architect from about 1880 to the mid-1920s. Of three by three bays and four storeys under a flat roof, it combines red brick, white stone for the string courses, surrounds, bay windows and archivolts, and bluestone for the plinth. The symmetrical, tripartite façade is articulated on the two main floors by basket-handle and round-arched recesses; three-sided bay windows bearing a medallion with a bunch of flowers mark the side bays, and a double dogtooth frieze and a wooden cornice on brackets crown it. The wooden entrance doors with wrought ironwork survive. It is recorded in the Flemish architectural heritage inventory.
