An Art Deco office building of 1937-1938, designed for the Société anonyme du Canal et des Installations maritimes de Bruxelles and recorded in the inventory. Rectangular in plan, it has three storeys under a flattened hipped roof, with orange-brick façades trimmed with blue stone above a massive base. The central bay of the main façade opens through a door framed in stepped black Swedish granite, preceded by plinths carrying octagonal lanterns; the glazed metal door bears Art Deco motifs incorporating anchor coats of arms. The interior layout is almost intact: the hall and staircase are enriched with marble, an Art Deco balustrade and stained-glass windows evoking marine life, designed by Émile J. Patoux and made by Florent-Prosper Colpaert. Canvases by Patoux illustrating old views of the canal adorn the corridor.
