Art Deco corner apartment building by the architects Fernand Simons and A. Varlet, the latter also being the client, 1929. The orange-brick façades, richly enhanced with white imitation stone, play on recesses and projections: a projecting bay with a curved outline and loggias on Avenue de l'Hippodrome, a projecting bay with rounded corners on Avenue des Klauwaerts, rows of small hexagonal oculi and spandrels decorated with abstract motifs in low relief. Each floor holds a single apartment, served by a main lift in the centre of the principal staircase, backed up by a service lift and staircase.
