Former 'Hotel de la Boucherie', built in 1924 for Oscar De Clercq, a butcher from Tielt, whose son ran the hotel until 1958; the building, now a funeral home, was built to an unsigned plan. This broad-fronted Art Deco house has two storeys under a gable roof of machine-made tiles parallel to the street, with dormers under triangular pediments. Its red-brick cornice façade is enlivened by white-painted parts – bands, a stepped bracket motif on the piers and a full-width panel that once bore 'HOTEL DE LA BOUCHERIE' in characteristic lettering – and, on the corner piers, by a stylised bow motif in relief in octagonal cartouches. The rendered, white-painted ground floor, largely altered, originally held a grocery on the right and the three-part front of the café and hotel on the left. The joinery has since been renewed and the façade entirely repainted. The building is recorded in the Flemish architectural heritage inventory.
