Maison Art déco, Nieuwstraat 4 — Tielt

This Art Deco town house was built in 1926, together with the neighbouring house at no. 6, to a 1925 design by the Tielt architect Valère Lievens for the contractor Hendrik Lievens; the land registry records a partial rebuilding in 1947. The yellow-brown brick facade, articulated by slightly projecting piers, rises on the right into a stepped gable. Decorative render frames the three-sided oriel and the rectangular, round-arched and chamfered openings, and the partly glazed door has a decorative iron grille.
