Camille Damman

Born in Saint-Gilles in 1880 and died in 1969, Camille Damman belonged to the second generation of geometric Art Nouveau architects that followed Paul Hankar. After the First World War he turned to Art Deco and designed the Palais de la Cambre in Brussels (1922-1923). He also designed the brick church of Notre-Dame de l'Annonciation in Ixelles (1934), a Venezuelan pavilion for the 1930 exhibitions, and a modernist apartment building in Liège (1937).
