An Art Deco office and residential building on the corner of Arsenaalstraat and Verbrande-Entrepotstraat, designed in 1925 by the architect Jos. Persoons and built in 1926 according to its date stone, for the master stevedore Cornelius Mabesoone. The mixed programme comprised offices, a garage, a warehouse and two flats; in 1933 most of the offices were converted into four additional flats. On a reinforced concrete frame, the red brick façades are punctuated by white stone bow windows, and the central section, bearing the name "MARITIME BUILDING", is crowned by an attic with a curved pseudo-pediment dated 1926. The spandrels carry reliefs with nautical emblems, Mercury's staff and Art Deco rosettes; the 1926 Jaspar lift retains its wooden car.
