Town house in the Art Deco style under the influence of the Amsterdam School, built for the clerk René Maclot after a 1922 design by the architect Hendrik Adolf Wittocx (permit file of 28 December 1922) and carried out in 1923. Semi-detached, of two unequal bays and two storeys under a tiled mansard roof, it has sober red-brick elevations, the front articulated by colossal pilasters and recessed panels. The wide left bay, treated as a taller projection, is marked by a rising three-sided wooden bay window and a dormer; the woodwork of the bay window and the brickwork of the parapets in the right bay carry a discreet decorative pattern borrowed from the Amsterdam School. The almost blind side elevation is accentuated by the entrance porch, with a wooden canopy and side lights, whose wooden door with wrought ironwork survives. The house is recorded in the Flemish architectural heritage inventory.
