The "White Residence" apartment building, designed by P. Ongenae of Kortrijk in 1938, with the design altered in 1939, and built for A. and C. De Witte (Lauwe) on the site of the Jesuits' neo-Gothic congregation chapel (1857, consecrated in 1859). This concrete-framed block over cellars is regarded as the first apartment building in Kortrijk. The Art Deco idiom is expressed in the bay windows continuing into curved balconies with tubular handrails and in the canopied entrance, with a wrought-iron double door decorated with a flower basket, flanked by two windows with ornamental grilles. The hall is decorated with marble. The building is recorded in the Flemish architectural heritage inventory.
