The plans for this house, built for Mr R. Richet, were drawn up on 29 November 1931 by the architect Charles Jamin (1882-1964). It was built in 1932 by the firms of Raymond Carlier, of Saint-Gobert, for the masonry, and L. Robert for the carpentry and joinery, on the former park of the Carlier estate, sold and divided into plots around 1925. According to the French heritage inventory, it was built in an Art Deco version of the picturesque style current since the second half of the 19th century. Built of brick, it has an asymmetrical pitched roof whose longer slope steps out to cover the raking dormers, and a render reproduces a stylised half-timbering pattern on the two attic storeys. This asymmetry of the roof, the false half-timbering in painted cement, the raking dormer and the polychromy of the materials are, according to the Inventory, all references to the regional architecture of Switzerland and Normandy. The house was studied in 1999 by the French general heritage inventory (Inventaire général du patrimoine culturel) during the topographical survey of the town of Vervins.
