The architect Charles Jamin (1882-1964), who settled in Vervins after the First World War and had been municipal architect since 1922, drew up the plans for his own house on 20 September 1932. It was built in 1932-1933, with the masonry entrusted to the firm of Raymond Carlier of Saint-Gobert. According to the French heritage inventory, the house is in the Art Deco style, expressed through simple, geometric volumes: a three-sided projecting bay, column shafts and roof terraces. Built of brick painted white, it has a symmetrical three-bay façade whose taller, slightly projecting central section marks the entrance; both the house and its garage have flat terrace roofs. Requisitioned by the occupying forces during the Second World War, it lost part of its interior decoration, including its original floor tiles.
