Villa Mon Refuge, after the inscription in iron lettering: a detached house in the Art Deco style with elements of the ocean-liner style, built in 1936 according to the building plan to a design by the architect P. Vanmarke of De Panne for Louis Gaiffe of Mons-en-Barœul. It is signed with a stone bearing the inscription "Ph. Vanmarke/ ing. Architecte/ La Panne". The two-bay, two-storey villa under a flat roof is characterised by a dynamic silhouette and contrasting materials: yellow and black decorative brick, cement render and cimorné facing, edged with black glazed tiles. The taller right-hand bay opens with a wide round-arched doorway topped by a balcony window between semicircular piers; the left-hand bay, a projecting semicircular volume, is strongly marked horizontally by moulded undulating bands and wide eaves. The left side façade, with a taller central bay in yellow brick, has a characteristic porthole; the villa is recorded in the Flemish architectural heritage inventory.
