Maison Art déco, Barkenlaan 28 — De Panne

Semi-detached Art Deco house with a front garden, built in 1934 according to municipal information; a façade stone attributes it to the architect "Ph. Vanmarke, ing. Architecte, La Panne". It is characterised by a dynamic silhouette and contrasting materials: yellow brick, black glazed brick around the doorway and white-painted cemented surfaces. The taller left bay carries a rectangular oriel with undulating mouldings, while the right bay forms a rounded oriel that narrows towards the top, strongly emphasised by horizontal bands. The building is recorded in the architectural heritage inventory.
