Beau Laurier et Akelei — De Panne

Two paired villas, "Beau Laurier" (no. 32) and "Akelei" (no. 34), built in 1929 to plans by the architect L. Legein of De Panne for G. Bomal of Brussels. In an Art Deco style with cubist forms, they stand out for their dynamic silhouette and strong verticality. Yellow brick volumes alternate with white-painted rendered surfaces, and the garden fences differ: openwork checkerboard concrete at no. 32, gates with a sunray motif at no. 34.
