Tall monumental Art Deco stone bearing inscriptions, made in 1927 by War Van Asten in honour of Matteotti, the Italian hero and symbol of freedom. Formerly at the Maison du Peuple in Brussels, it was re-erected in the 1970s against the gable wall of the house at No. 2 Rue du Petit-Wasmes, a few metres from the Maison du Peuple of Petit-Wasmes. The monument is recorded in the Walloon heritage inventory.
