Maisons Art déco, rue de Mons 64-70 — Nivelles

These four terraced houses illustrate the Art Deco style in good everyday production. Three of them bear their architect's signature on a stone of the base: L. Jaumotte at nos 64 and 70, the latter dated 1938, and Ed. Ypersier of Nivelles at no 68. The facades, in brick of a different colour from house to house on a limestone base, play on projections, segmental bow windows on the upper floor for two of them and quarter-round finishes beneath overhanging cornices; they retain plain original window frames and doors fitted with Art Deco ironwork.
