Maison Art déco, avenue Général Jacques 2 — Nivelles

A house of 1938 belonging to the modernist current, in an Art Deco style tinged with Streamline (paquebot) influence, built by the architect J. Manneback, as an inscription carved on one of the entrance piers records. The three-storey building in brick, limestone and concrete, with a flat roof terrace, is articulated by canted sides and projections and marked by a tall flat concrete chimney. The entrance, sheltered by a flat concrete canopy between two broad pilasters, retains its door with small glazing bars; long windows and oculi pierce the canted sides and flanks.
