Art Deco town house of 1935, built for the schoolteacher J. Hollebeek on the site of the former municipal school, built in 1860 to designs by J. Van Gastel, demolished in 1933 and replaced by the present nos. 140 to 146. Of two bays and two storeys under a pitched roof of black machine-made tiles, it has a full-width dormer. Its cornice-and-gable façade in decorative brickwork has wing pieces on either side of the dormer and a carved door surround in white stone; the ground-floor window has been altered, and the upper part carries a three-sided oriel. The date is given by the authorisation of the Ministry of Public Works of 8 June 1935. The house is recorded in the Flemish architectural heritage inventory.
