Maison Art déco, Kortrijkstraat 38 — Wortegem-Petegem

Double-fronted house in the Art Deco style in Petegem-aan-de-Schelde, built in 1938 by Remi Delarue, an architect from Anzegem; according to a 2011 addition to the inventory entry, its occupants still hold the original plans. Built of brick under an L-shaped tiled saddle roof, behind a low brick wall enclosing a small front garden, it has two storeys and emphasises the play of volumes, with rectangular openings. The right-hand gable combines a porch and a semicircular corner bay window, topped respectively by a rounded balcony and a chamfered rectangular French window. The garage is on the left of the ground floor, and the staircase lighting is set in the projecting section of the right-hand side elevation. The house is recorded in the Flemish architectural heritage inventory.
