Immeuble à appartements et habitation d'architecte, rue Louis Hymans 9

An Art Deco apartment building that includes the architect's own home and studio, built in 1928 for the Darche brothers and signed "A.(ndré) Darche / architecte". Its five storeys beneath a mansard roof play on volumes and materials: yellow brick with recessed joints, red brick for the oriels, small bays and top storey, white stone dressings and a rubble sandstone base. Inside, a hall with staircase and lift serves one flat per floor, while the drawing studio opens widely onto the garden.
