Lucien De Munnynck

Lucien De Munnynck, born in Ghent on 4 March 1903 and died in Kortrijk on 1 May 2000, was an architect based in Kortrijk. There he built the guild house of the Christen Werkers Verbond at Wijngaardstraat 48 in 1930, in yellow and red brick on a bluestone plinth, one bay of which he altered in 1946. In 1932 he built his own house at André Devaerelaan 130, with Art Deco detailing around the door and windows. He also designed several Art Deco houses in the town's residential districts: Theodoor Sevenslaan 54 (1931), with a yellow-orange brick facing and a rounded corner, Goedendaglaan 57 (1932, dated 1933), with a continuous bow window above an underground garage, and Passionistenlaan 47 (1933), with a slanting projecting bay. He was still listed on the rolls of the Order of Architects at the end of 1967.
