Villa Art déco avec jardin, Stationsstraat 36 — Borgloon

This detached Art Deco villa appears in the land registry from 1939. Its complex brick volume, L-shaped over two storeys on a raised ground floor, is topped by high black tiled roofs and imposing chimneys. Ironwork is the only form of ornament: a monumental round-arched door, apparently designed together with the bell and flanking light fittings, and balcony balustrades. The transition zones between house and garden received particular attention, and the garden retains a privet hedge, a pergola and a small service building with a dog kennel and a dovecote. The property has been protected as a monument since 2004.
