An Art Deco monument designed in 1934 for the Société de Vente de Petit Granit Belge by the architects Charles Van Nueten and Maurice Keym. Created for the 1935 World's Fair, it was meant to outlast the event. It consists of a fifteen-metre bluestone column on a base formed by three concave circular sections: the lower half of the column is smooth, the upper half grooved in stepped fashion. At mid-height, the inscription “Les carrières de / Petit granit belge” runs in two superimposed bands.
