Bluestone memorial in the Art Deco style to the fallen of both world wars, by the architect Frans Cools and the sculptor Simon Goossens, unveiled on 20 July 1930 in the Burcht cemetery. Above a three-part circular plinth stands Christ on the cross, between Mary and Saint John the Baptist. At the foot of the cross is the inscription "O kruis/ onze eenige/ hoop" in bronze letters, and the plinth bears a bronze bas-relief of a fallen soldier. A recent plaque with the names of the dead of both wars has been added at the back, and bluestone pedestals with plaques bearing the names of the veterans surround the square. The memorial is recorded in the Flemish architectural heritage inventory.
