Maison Art déco Temmerman — Zele

Art Deco corner house built in 1930 to 1928 plans by architect Adolf Keppens for the industrialist Achiel Temmerman; it was bought as early as 1931 by the industrialist Gaston Caesens. Two storeys high under a half mansard roof, its restrained façade of mainly rectangular forms (lintels with relief motifs, pilaster strips, cornice on brackets) contrasts with the round-arched front door and a large round leaded-glass window in the side façade. The very refined cement render with false joints rests on a bluestone plinth, and wrought ironwork with scroll and leaf ornament adorns the door and the window railings.
