Shop in the Art Deco style built for Arthur Boon after a 1929 design by the architect François Bollekens: a first, more ambitious design of February 1929 gave way to a simplified version of July 1929, which was carried out, with a dwelling and storage on the upper floors. The glove shop goes back to the "Maison T. Ghianda", founded in 1884 by Italian immigrants and taken over around 1920 by Arthur Boon. The three-bay, four-storey façade, entirely in stone above a shopfront clad in black marble, is articulated by colossal pilasters and crowned by a trapezoidal pediment bearing the name "Ganterie A. Boon" and a finial in the form of a flower basket; the original wooden joinery of the shopfront and windows survives. The shop interior is preserved in its entirety, with its oak panelling with fluted Art Deco mouldings, chevron friezes, mirrors and display cases, its shelves of leather glove boxes, its opal-glass light fittings, its floor of pressed diabolo-shaped tiles and its furniture, including a National cash register. The shop has been protected as a monument since 2020.
