Deux maisons Art déco, Gasstraat 37-39 — Turnhout

Two mirror-image houses of 1935, together four bays and two storeys under a shared pseudo-mansard roof with dormers, in a Dutch-inspired Art Deco. The brown brick façades with cornices are marked by alternating horizontal and vertical brick courses, three-sided oriels on the upper floor and an original wooden cornice on paired brackets. The openings retain their original joinery, with transoms of textured glass in a geometric glazing pattern; the paired entrance doors share a canopy. The houses are recorded in the Flemish architectural heritage inventory.
