The Cité du Miroir is a complex of seventy-two social dwellings built in 1937-1939 for the Foyer Bruxellois, to plans by the architect H. Van Montfort. It resulted from the clearance of an unhealthy neighbourhood, the residents being kept in place through a permanent rehousing system. The five-storey U-shaped ensemble stands on a reinforced-concrete structure; its facades alternate rendered sill bands with yellow-brick piers, and shopfronts open under a canopy on rue Blaes.
