After the First World War, the municipality planned a covered playground shelter next to the boys' school, which in the end became a free-standing festival hall, built on the edge of the former marsh behind the girls' school. The municipal council decided on its construction on 1 August 1926 and approved the plans of the Amiens architect Claude-Antonin Dory; approved in 1927, the project was carried out the following year with the firm Mourier et Pacque, and the building, called le Foyer, was handed over on 1 July 1928. Elongated in plan and single-storey, the brick building has a gabled façade whose upper part, of sand-lime bricks laid in a herringbone pattern, bears a mosaic and sgraffito decoration: three women holding a book, a flute or a panpipe in an idyllic antique-style landscape, which may be regarded as an allegory of the arts and culture. Sketched on the façade design, this decoration is attributed to Dory. The interior forms a single nave with an exposed roof structure, with a gallery and a stage, now covered by a false ceiling. According to the French general heritage inventory (Inventaire général du patrimoine culturel), which studied it in 2010 during the topographical survey of the Val-de-Nièvre, the hall is a representative example of Art Deco architecture.
