Following a municipal competition held in 1927, the covered market was entrusted to the architects Nénot and Henri-Léon Bloch. The building contracts were signed in 1931 and the building was accepted in March 1933. In a neo-regionalist style, it has a semicircular plan, with a façade punctuated by a succession of arcades and a vaulted passage onto the street. It was listed as a historic monument by decree of 24 January 1996.
