House of the textile manufacturer Arthur Penneman, built in 1933 to a design by the architect Alex Meuleman, as the plinth stone records, by the contractor Edouard Heene; it replaced the former Goethals family mansion in front of the textile mill Penneman took over in 1918. This Art Deco house, three bays wide and three storeys high under a flat roof, has a facade of yellow and red brick with horizontal joints, with stacked oriels on the right and balconies with tubular railings on the left; the fanlights retain stained glass with geometric patterns. The Art Deco interior survives: a staircase with an Art Deco balustrade, glazed doors in green and silver painted frames, and the original bathroom tiling.
