This house from the second third of the 19th century was acquired in 1889 by the cooperative society “Le Progrès” of Jolimont to be fitted out as a Maison du Peuple (workers' meeting house). Major alterations in 1927 added an extra storey and a new Art Deco facade. The facade has five bays over three storeys, plus one on the left side elevation, with a turret at the left corner of the second floor, round-arched windows on the ground floor and rectangular ones on the upper floors. Floral decoration adorns the lintel and sill panel of the third-storey windows and the brackets of the balcony with its metal railing, which runs across the three central bays of the first floor. Inside, the ground-floor café room retains a half-hidden frieze along the former ceiling and stucco decoration with floral and plant motifs framing several bas-reliefs of allegorical scenes. It is recorded in the Walloon heritage inventory.
