Art Deco town house built for the stockbroker Jan Frans Saerens and his wife Elvire Van Hamme, registered in the land registry in 1935, to plans by the Merchtem architect Jean De Roy, whose signature appears on the plinth. The red brick façade, enlivened with imitation stone, stands out for its decorative panels with floral and geometric motifs, which the inventory describes as the most characteristic Art Deco features. The door bay is marked by a three-sided oriel crowned by a balcony, and the iron grilles of the fanlight and door repeat geometric and floral motifs. The building is recorded in the Flemish architectural heritage inventory.
